Welcome to brainscramble.com. This is the teacher’s source for all the best trick questions, brain teasers, wacky wordies, and the like. I have already sifted through the ones on the ‘net that are too easy or too hard or too lame, so these are the best (so far).

I use these every Friday as the warm up before our weekly test. We call it mental floss after a B. Kliban cartoon.

Everybody can look at all the questions, but only members have access to the answers, and only teachers can be members. Send me an e-mail (mcoward@slcusd.org) from your school account, and a link to your school website, so I can make sure you’re not a student looking for extra credit, and I will send you a username and password. Then you can start using these for your warm ups, sponge activities, and whatnot.

We usually do 5-6 every Friday, so that’s what I’ll try to post during the school year. During the summer, I’ll try to post a few each week, so you’re ready for the fall. (Also for you year-round people.)

Update: Obviously I was dreaming about the frequency of updates, but at last count, there were about 200 brain teasers and suchlike here.
